Millwright

Our client has a full-time permanent opportunity available for a Millwright in Pembroke, ON 

 


Responsibilities:

  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts

  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up

  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions

  • Construct foundations for machinery; Installing machinery and equipment

  • Assembling machinery and equipment (prior to installation)

  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery

  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts

  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment

  • Welding equipment; Tool grinders; Pumps and compressors; Power tools; Hand tools; Gas and air dryers; Fans and blowers; Electrical and electronic controls; Conveyor; Automated and robotic system; Hydraulic system; Pneumatic system

  • Start-up and testing; Specialty welding; Renovating and restoring; Bearing, seals and packing; Troubleshooting; Shutdown operations; Laser levelling/aligning; Programmable logic controller (PLC)


Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Journeyman Industrial Mechanic/ Millwright Certificate is an asset 

  • Minimum 5 years overall experience is required

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications

  • Ability to perform welding jobs

  • Experience in lumber industry is required  

  • Able to lift up to 23 kg (50lbs) 

  • Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW); Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG) is an asset

  • Knowledge of computerized machinery

  • Ability to work at heights or in cramped spaces
