Accounting Supervisor

Our client has an immediate full-time permanent opportunity available for an Accounting Supervisor in Meadow Lake, SK


Reporting to the site Plant Manager, the Divisional Accounting Supervisor is an integral part of the business who is responsible for financial analysis, procedures, and systems. This position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of accounting personnel, procedures, systems, and activities. The incumbent is also accountable for efficient budget and financial statement preparation as well as capital expenditure coordination.



In this role, you will be responsible for the completion of year end and forecast requirements, as well as reconciliation, leading the mill budgeting process, review of payroll and completion of audits.



What We’re Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate will have achieved a CPA designation in a recognized accounting with a minimum of 5 years of related experience

  • Demonstrated hands on sales/operational financial operating skills and a good understanding of consolidation concepts are preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail, a strong understanding of general accounting principles and strong accounting knowledge in relation to cost accounting, inventory control margin analysis and consolidations

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, time management and communication skills

  • Problem-solving skills with strong decision-making capability

  • Proficiency in forward planning and project management

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Power BI

  • Proficiency with JDE and LIMS considered assets

  • Knowledge of the forestry industry considered an asset
