Our client has an immediate full-time permanent opportunity available for a Grain Buyer in North Battleford, SK  

Responsibilities: 

• Successfully examine/ tests crops to estimate their value, grade, and extent of dirt, burrs, hulls, seeds etc 

• Successfully build relationships with customers/farmers as well as develop partnership

• Responsible for managing grain procurement in an effective manner. 

• Responsible for negotiating and buying grain such as lentils, peas, flax seeds and specialty crop.

• Responsible for extracting samples and delivers to office for analysis and certification.

• Effectively keep daily records on kinds grades of grain received, prices paid, amount purchased, and amount in storage.

• Sends out daily reports to management of all offers and bids.

• Responsible for sending out weekly seeding, crop progress and harvest reports as well as market trends. 

• Successfully calculate market value bargains with sellers to obtain grain at favorable price.

Qualifications: 

• Degree in Agri-Business or other formal training preferred.

• Experience with grain purchasing and contract management required.

• Strong knowledge in word, excel and outlook.

• Valid Driver's License
